How difficult it is sometimes to keep our schedule under control. Some people are so busy, their children are so involved in school, religious or neighborhood activities and the work and family obligations so intertwined, it's amazing they get to bed before they actually drop from exhaustion. Karen and I have a very simple life style compared to most everyone, and it isn't too difficult for us to plan our travel, our ministry activities and our return trip to Colorado for our medical appointments. It took me only three days to arrange all my VA appointments and our plan to attend Karen's 55th Hayden, CO High School reunion within the time frame of doing this all before my Primary Care Physician at the VA retires on June 6.
I have 8 separate appointments at the VA in Fort Collins, CO or Cheyenne, WY and all are set and ready for me to just show up. Karen will start setting up her appointments later today and should have her four appointments, plus our dental appointments arranged in a few days.
We have been fortunate to have good doctors, dentists, eye people and others who keep us able to do what God has called us to do. We have made preliminary plans for Mike and Linda coming back to Madison for some meetings and then our convoy to Chattanooga for some R&R for about a week and then on to Arkansas for TGPP. It's so nice to be able to plan, see those plans come together and know that we are still serving in ministry, maintaining relationships with friends and family and also look further ahead for our other Mike and Linda Colorado friends to visit us at TGPP in October with a group of their friends.
And in all these plans and meshing of schedules, it's easy to forget that in all of them there is an overriding presence and a bigger calendar and schedule of events than we can imagine. Have you ever given any thought to what God's daily, weekly and monthly calendar looks like? I don't envision it being a monster desk-style calendar, or a high-speed, ultra-modern computer spread sheet or even a bunch of angels running around with post-it notes on a white board. God just does it......... keeps it all organized.........makes changes when we change our minds or forget to show up.........and when it works out, He just smiles and gets enjoyment out of our enjoyment. The one thing we do need to remember, is that it's by His grace and His impeccable timing, that it works out as it does. And the other thing to remember is to thank Him for all He does and all He means to us..............so.............Thank You, Lord.
