Miles - what it means
When we "heard" the name Ministry of Miles we didn't really grasp the significance of it. We felt our calling was to speak to Veterans, specifically Vietnam veterans with health issues possibly caused by exposure to Agent Orange. Our own story though long and detailed boils down to being blessed by the VA and the benefits we received as a result of my military service and the heart attack I suffered in 2008 and the efforts of the Veterans Service Coordinator(Debbie Pierson and her staff) of Larimer County, Colorado to pursue a claim for disability benefits. We have continued to tell everyone about the benefits they may be due as veterans and the quality of care we have received from the VA and what they might expect if they seek what they are due.
The other aspect of our ministry, and the one which drives us and has driven us in our walk with The Lord is our faith and trust in Him and the surety of our Eternal Salvation.
Thus MIL is the military audience we seek out, and ES is the Eternal Salvation message we speak to everyone we meet. MILES . We originally thought miles was just the road miles we would travel, but we have found a deeper purpose to the miles we travel and the message we deliver. God has blessed us mightily over the soon to be 40 years of our marriage, during the years before we met each other or Him, and we know He will bless us over the miles, few or many we have ahead of us. TO GOD BE THE GLORY. The Ministry and the Miles are His.
