Each day seems to bring a new adventure and challenges not faced before.   There have been times in my life life when the daily grind was just that…..a grind.  The time seemed to drag because there was the “same ol’ same oil’” with no challenge of something new.  But the pace of change has changed.  We seem to face new experiences more frequently as businesses modified their procedures, new forms take the  place of ones we are used to, or expectations of our leaders are higher than they were yesterday.  Change is the norm and what we knew is replaced by a new way to do each task.  New products replace familiar ones.  “We don’t carry that anymore” is heard more frequently.  Just now a message came on my screen saying, that something is wrong with the system and we can’ proceed unless I contact the help center.  It seemed to prove the point I am trying to write about !!!

As we age things take longer to sink in and people get more anxious about things they haven’t experienced before.  Young people seem to be better able to adapt but they also seem to not be able to tolerate those of us who have navigated times which were less technical and more practical.  What it all boils down to is life is not always easy and we all need to be more patient, more forgiving and less frustrated by things that we don’t understand.  For me, it boils down to this:  remember how it was, know that the present moment is is all we need to address and trust that God is still in control and will be our comfort in what is to come.
