April 7, 2014. Montgomery Bell State Park, Burns, TN. Where two or three come together....

Saturday we said farewell to our Colorado friends, as we both headed west. We travelled 46 miles to where we settled in and will be until tomorrow morning. Our friends met their daughter and granddaughter in St. Louis and headed west again and are already home in Windsor, CO. Over 1200 miles in less than 2 days. Boy are WE ever tired. We'll "recover" today with a DVD, doing taxes and then off to see "God's Not Dead" with the pastor of the church we attended yesterday, his wife and some other members of the congregation. Let me tell you about this church.
We've grown to love our church in Colorado, Shiloh Christian church, with its 100 or so attendees and the closeness of the families and the relationships which have developed, Solid Rock Community Church in Dickson, TN meets in a building they rent for $30 a week, the attendance yesterday evening was 10 (including Karen and me). The six member Praise Team, including Pastor Jerry led the remaining four of us in song and prayer. The message was James 4 and the testimony of Wayne who was moved by the song "I'll Fly Away" was as heartfelt a testimony as we've ever heard. We were driven to church by Pastor Jerry and Sue, who are the registration people here at the State Park. We passed by a number of churches on the way to and from Solid Rock, with loads of cars and impressive structures, but what we experienced at SRCC was God's people and God's presence. Jerry and Sue dropped us off, then went to the hospital to pray for Jenny's mother-in-law and then came back to register us in the park so we could stay another night. In the process we met Fat Pappy and Peaches also members of the church. Tonight we will be with God's people again to fellowship and celebrate a story of His greatness and hope. We have been so blessed to be part of God's family, to be able to gather on so many Sunday's on this trip with a variety of people who love The Lord, seek to do His will and get through this life to an Eternal Home with those we love and who love us. Bless you Larry, Pat, Ray, Daniel, Jenny, Wayne, Jerry and Sue. May God continue to be with you and Solid Rock Community Church. We pray now for all those two's or there's, tens's, hundreds or thousands who come together in His Name that they may feel His presence and know He is with them. Amen.
