December 19, 2013.                                                                                                                      The tech stuff is beyond confusing.  Too much, too fast and too expensive.  Add to that the new home on wheels and we are in a 21st century free fall, except for the free part.  The main point of it all is that God gave us a plan and we have surrendered to it lock, stock and barrel.  We are in Goodlett, TX in The Olde Towne Cotton Gin RV Park(google it) and have been here two nights and will be staying until Sunday because of very severe weather in east Texas and beyond that to Florida expected over the weekend.  We need to avoid severe weather as Branson, MO is our witness.  We stopped at the Groom Cross a few days ago(google it).  It was very inspiring and humbling.  We will be going to Pease River Cowboy Church here in Goodlett on Sunday, so God is giving us opportunity to minister, but be ministered to as well.  God is Good.  Your  Old Town experience and our Olde Town experience and the many people we have encountered so far on this journey every place we stop and visit, confirms the need we all have for Jesus Christ and the life He offers to those who reach out to Him in faith.  We are where God has called us and we will move on or stay as He directs.  No agenda and no time table but His.   Pass this along to our Shiloh family.  I'd like to post your email and this one to the Ministry of Miles website, but................H

How is the trip so far?  I took our teens into Old Town last night and we handed out some homemade candies to people with church cards attached.  We would hand them out to people and then simply wish them a Merry Christmas.  The smiles from the drunkards, homeless, young couples and families really had an impact on me.  A simple act of kindness brought smiles to the dirtiest and most hopeless of faces.  Hope you and Karen get your hearts filled in the same way as you travel.

  1. Glad to see you guys are on your way! Did you know you were going south when you hit I-25, or did you flip a coin when you got there? Our prayers are with you.
